Protecting TGI2+ Rights

May 17, 2025

1pm - 5pm

Connie Norman Transgender Empowerment Center

On May 17, the LA Queer Coalition, in partnership with The Unique Woman’s Coalition, gathered community members, organizers, artists, and advocates at the Connie Norman Transgender Empowerment Center for a Town Hall focused on protecting TGI2+ rights in a rapidly changing political landscape.

This event went beyond conversation. It was a space for movement building, collective strategy, and care. Voices across law, education, healthcare, and lived experience shared insight, urgency, and vision, including representatives from Lambda Legal, APLA Health, Daniel Pearl Magnet High School, and trans led organizations doing critical on the ground work. The conversation was moderated by Nikka Yuko of Equality Fashion Week.

Alongside policy and strategy, the town hall centered joy, culture, and community care. Attendees experienced live performances from trans and queer artists, connected with affirming organizations and vendors, and had access to real time emotional support for TGI2+ folks and their families. Hosted food and drinks created space for connection and relationship building throughout the afternoon.

Thank you to our partners, sponsors, performers, volunteers, and every community member who showed up to make this day possible. The work continues, and we move forward together.
