About LAQC

WHO WE ARE

LA Queer Coalition is a collective of queer leaders, organizers, artists, and community members working together to build shared power across Los Angeles. We unite people across identities, neighborhoods, and movements to protect our rights, amplify our voices, and create lasting positive change for LGBTQ+ communities. Our work is rooted in collaboration, care, and the belief that collective action is essential to our liberation.

WHAT WE DO

Town Halls
We host community gatherings that bring people together for learning, connection, and conversation. Our town halls often include workshops, shared resources, comedy, music, food, and opportunities for open dialogue. These spaces are designed to be accessible, affirming, and responsive to the needs of our community.

Organizing and Advocacy
We organize around policies and issues that directly impact queer lives in Los Angeles. Through advocacy, coalition building, and community engagement, we fight for systems that uplift, protect, and affirm LGBTQ+ people, especially those most impacted by injustice.

Celebration and Joy
Joy is not separate from resistance. We create spaces to celebrate queer culture, creativity, and resilience. By centering joy, we strengthen our bonds, honor our histories, and sustain ourselves for the work ahead.

WHY IT MATTERS

The queer community of Los Angeles is powerful when we stand together. In a city as vast and diverse as LA, coming together across differences allows us to build collective strength, respond to harm, and imagine new possibilities. When we organize in community, our voices carry further and our impact lasts longer.
